Joseph S. Mboka (SIERRA LEONE)

I was a SIPRI intern in September and October 2006. I worked with the Armed Conflicts and Conflict Management Department during my internship, and assessed the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration processes in four West African countries: Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea-Bissau and Ivory Coast.

I had unlimited access to relevant research material and took full advantage of the self-confident, rigorous and enviable research methodology of SIPRI. I finally produced a project that I jealously keep and protect in my personal library.

SIPRI offers an ideal atmosphere for successful research because it has an all-encompassing conflict management library and its staff are extremely friendly. It is also one of the best managed research institutions in the world.
